SonRise
“Oh, that we might know the Lord!
Let us press on to know Him.
He will respond to us as surely as the arrival of dawn
or the coming of rains in early spring.”
Hosea
6:3 (NLT)
Is there hope of freedom
From this night of sin?
Is there cause to seek Him
Whom I’ve disobeyed again?
Will He refuse to answer;
Does mercy have an end?
And, oh, it really matters
If I can’t call Him Friend.
Then He
answered me
from the
pages of His Book,
“Come, sit
by Me,
And take a
closer look.
I’m the
SonRise,
Bringing
light to darkest sky.
In My wings
there is healing
When you’re
before Me kneeling.”
I walked on through His Word,
And saw this theme repeat.
The faithfulness of our kind Lord
Each morning finds new feet
To run into my heart so dim,
With peace and grace as gifts.
I will press on to know Him,
God Who forgives all rifts.
Then He
answered me
from the
pages of His Book,
“Come, sit
by Me,
And take a
closer look.
I’m the
SonRise,
Bringing
light to darkest sky.
In My wings
there is healing
When you’re
before Me kneeling.”
He will come, He will come,
Yes, He will,
As surely as the dawn!
I will wait and be still;
By You I’m drawn
To gaze upon Your light until
Your image finds reflection in my soul.
For the love etched in Your face has made me whole.
